Colonia del Sacramento Definitely worth the day (or long weekend) trip! It's a UNESCO World Heritage site and you see why once you get off the buquebus (book-ee-voos). Really beautiful small town and even the "non-historic" parts are adorable...cobble stone streets with canopies of plane trees and cheap, cheap wine!
La Boca! There's a tango dancer behind Dad's shoulder! And that's the soccer stadium slap bang in the middle of the neighborhood - maybe Ratner can get some tips...Mum might have some better pics - these are not great
We "braved" the local train from Retiro to take the Tren de la Costa on to Tigre, a area on the River Plat delta. . . the river is lined with old Rowing clubs and restaurants. Pics from the river boat ride will come later - they're on mum's camera. We stopped at the fancy suburb of San Ysidro on the way home.
The beautiful Floralis Generica opens in the morning and closes at dusk Flicker has some incredible pictures of this public art piece at night.
Three quarters of the Griffo's go to Argentina! Here is a selection of the pics with some brief notes. . .and some background links!
First, a couple of shots from around
