But the big building job was the much talked about awning to protect from intense afternoon sun from the west...Variance from city was obtained in September 2008 through one builder who quit on me twice which put us behind schedule as soon as I arrived. After some compromises and downscaling I went with Alfredo again, (he might be my Uncle Cooper) and we got as far as the steel poles in the ground. Cedar and roofing steel was not in stock so we special ordered and the plan is that once it arrives he'll continue building and email me pics and questions. . . hmmmm, we'll see how that works out....

But the number one thing I did on this trip was deal with builders (the lack of), and building materials. First on the list of things to do was screen doors - I now have three beautiful ones! This is one of them!

main reason for the trip was (2nd annual) Marfa Flm Festival . Lots of outdoor screenings: the Last Picture Show; Midnight Cowboy; The Red Shoes.

abandoned puppy found outside of Fort Stockton on the side of the road. . .he's resting at Food Shark during lunch. . .found a good home with Elizabeth! possible names Pearl (beer) Gladys (Knight), Hannah (Montana), Sister (not sure)

Just back from 2 weeks in Marfa!...this is sunday afternoon bike ride!
